DR ANASTASIA HRONIS

BPsych (Hons I), MClin Psych, AMusA, LMusA, PhD

Dr Anastasia is a clinical psychologist and founder of the Australian Institute for Human Wellness. She is a practicing clinician, as well as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology degree with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Clinical Psychology degree and PhD from the University of Technology Sydney. Through Anastasia’s PhD she developed and evaluated a therapy program for children with intellectual disabilities. Anastasia is an Honorary Associate at the University of Technology Sydney where she lecturers the Master of Clinical Psychology students and provides research supervision.

Anastasia provides individual psychological therapy, group therapy programs, coaching courses and workshops. She has wide range of experience working in both the public and private sectors. She has presented at a number of national and international conferences, and has published research in top rated journals.

Anastasia is also a trained classical concert pianist, and provides performance coaching and consultations, as well as running workshops and masterclasses for those in the performing arts industry. She has performed on stages around the world including the Sydney Opera House seven times, and the internationally renowned Carnegie Hall in New York. Anastasia has been awarded her Associate Diploma and Licentiate Diploma in Music. 

Anastasia is an academic, lecturer and researcher at the University of Technology Sydney, and is actively involved in conducting research. She has published in a number of prestigious academic journals, and has presented on her research at national and international conferences, including the World Congress of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies in Berlin (2019), and the International Conference on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology in London (2019).

Anastasia was the lead researcher in the development of a therapy program specifically for children with disabilities. She has also been involved in research projects specific to problem gambling and the responsible consumption of gambling in collaboration with Southern Cross University and the University of Queensland. Anastasia is currently an associate editor of the peer reviewed Springer journal "Discover Psychology".
